John Lennon once claimed that "before Cliff Richard and The Shadows, there had been nothing worth listening to in British music". As the first backing band to emerge as stars in their own right, The Shadows were early trailblazers for the beat-group boom that eclipsed them. In 1964 The Shadows starred in a short humorous 32-minute film called "Rhythm 'n' Greens" which became the basis of a music book and an "EP". "Ranka Chank" was one of the tracks featured in this movie.
